THE Zamboanga City Police have intercepted a shipment of smuggled cigarettes in a west coast village in the city, an official said Saturday.
Senior Inspector Hingming Ladjaali, Police Station 8 chief, said the shipment was intercepted in a checkpoint on Thursday morning in the village of Malagutay.
Ladjaali said the shipment, consisting of 40 crates of American Legend Cigarettes, were loaded in a truck with temporary plate number driven by Nab Dammang.
Ladjaali said the shipment, which is owned by Jerry Munji of Maluso, Basilan, has no pertinent papers. (Bong Garcia)
