Drug pushers shot dead in Medellin, Naga

TWO suspected drug pushers were shot dead in two separate incidents on Monday in Medellin town and Naga City, Cebu.

In Naga City, Rewel Alimento was shot dead by two unidentifed assailants at Sition Humayan, Barangay Pangdan around 5:30 p.m.

Initial police investigation revealed that Alimento was gathering his hanged clothes just outside his house when two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle stopped infront of his house and shot him.

Naga police believed that Alimento's alleged involvement in illegal drug trade is the motive of the shooting.

Another drug pusher was shot dead in Sitio Mohon, Barangay Kawit, Medellin town around 9 p.m. on the same day.

The police identified the victim as Dominic Barro.

Barro's wife, Rosebella, said she was in their bedroom, together with their 11-year-old son, when she heard gunshots outside of their house. She immediately went out and saw her husband lying on the floor with gunshot wound on his right jaw.

The police recovered five sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu".

The Medellin police said Barro is included in their illegal drug watchlist. (Quincy Jones A. Adriano, USJR intern/Sunnex)
