Iloilo City Council urges probe on mayor's involvement

ILOILO City Council expressed its full support to the leadership and integrity of the City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and called for a speedy, impartial, lawful and formal investigation on the mayor’s involvement on illegal drugs.

City Councilor RLeone Gerochi said the resolution had met some opposition from two City Councilors, particularly Plaridel Nava who protested the use of the words “leadership and integrity” while acknowledging a fast investigation on the mayor’s involvement as illegal drug protector and coddler.

The announcement caused mixed reactions among residents of the city and uncertainty as to the effect of such pronouncements to the economic growth of the city.

The people named to be responsible including Mabilog will be given the opportunity to rebut the same.
