Mubac, BTTHS Blue lead 1st Alaska Basketball Cup

MURCIA Basketball Athletic Club (Mubac) 12-Under cagers and Bacolod Tay Tung High School Blue 16-U team won all their three-game assignments in the 1st Alaska Basketball Cup at BTTHS gym and covered court.

Coach Bebot Sagansay’s 12U kids from Murcia dominated with a 62-40 win over BTTHS White; a 68-43 slaying of Talisay Knights; and a 48-28 crushing of BTTHS Blue.

Tay Tung Blue retaliated in the 16U category with a 73-69 whipping of MUBAC; a 75-38 slashing of Talisay; and a 61-54 triumph over BTTHS White.

Other results in the 12U division saw BTTHS White upending the Blue Thunderbolts, 51-27 and shading Talisay, 58-56. The Knights cut the Blues, 68-44 for its only victory in the quadrennial.

In the 16U, Mubac trounced Talisay, 53-29, but got whacked, 52-77, by Tay Tung White which also defeated the Knights, 71-38.

BTTHS coaches Angelito Macayan, Renato Callora, and Danny Saloria and Talisay mentor Vincent Settier took notice of standouts Andy Villamer, Kent Esparagoza of Blue and White’s Justin Magoliman and Michael Garcia.

Mubac’s Nathan Jan Jundana and partner Mark Joseph Lazanas and BTTHS Blue's Raymart Elgario and Adriel Binguan completed the coaches’ choice for this tournament sponsored by Alaska Milk Corporation.
