TO SHOW off the prowess and grandeur of northern Mindanaoan visual art, the Memento Art Group – a group of Mindanao artists – is going to hold an exhibit themed “Frame of Mind” which is part of the Higalaay Festivities beginning August 12 until 29 at Limketkai Center.
The art exhibit will be featuring emerging and established artists from parts of Northern Mindanao including Pagadian and Butuan cities and Iligan, Bukidnon, and Cagayan de Oro.
The participating artists are Nick Aca, Ryan Carreon Aragon, Find Abragan, Melissa Abuga-a, Bada, Leticia Bajuyo, Michael Bacol, Mark Bailo, Leonil Bagayna, Archie Blanco, Mariegold Cherie, Hanry Cocos, Romy Cocos, Bo Daclan, Edzon Dela Cruz, Tzaddi Esguerra, Farrah Estabaya, Nonoy Estarte, Christine Fajardo, Oca Floirendo, Jacinto Geronimo Jr., Chris Gomez, Michelle Lua, Kurt Lluch, Jen Morales, Emmanuel Mulawan, June Murcilla, Jan Pagaringan, Boyet Ramoso, Jean Claire Razo, Kelly Ramos, Jude Redoble, Maila Secuban, Jojo Sescon, Frejaneh Timogan, Charlie Tutanes, and Jake Vamenta.
The exhibition is headed by renowned Kagay-anon artist Chris Gomez who invited many young and talented visual artists to participate in the “Frame of Mind.”
"The Frame of Mind art exhibit is open to Northern Mindanao artists from a wide range of artistic backgrounds such as painting, installation or sculpture. We welcome artists to showcase their latest works and provide new possibilities for those who are looking to broaden their artistic career and exhibition background,” Gomez explained.
The Higalaay Festival is a good time for the artists to showcase their artworks as thousands of people and art enthusiasts will be able to experience Northern Mindanaoan art.
The Exhibit further aims to be a call for Mindanaoan art to be appreciated more not only locally but also nationwide in new level with its exposure to tourists and critics.
