‘Drug pusher’ shot dead inside jeepney

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was shot dead inside a jeepney on J. Luna Ave., Barangay Mabolo last Friday evening, while another man was killed in Barangay Tuyan, Naga City during a commotion.

Police identified the victim as Ruben Romagos, 41, who was a subject of Oplan Tokhang of the Police Station 4.

Romagos was shot when jeepney driver Carmelito Curaraton, 37, stopped in a corner of Cabahug St. The motorcycle-riding assailant, wearing a black jacket and a helmet, pulled a gun from his waistline and fired at the victim.

Romagos was hit in the nape with the bullet penetrating his forehead.

There were 16 passengers in the jeepney that time.

Police recovered an empty shell and a slug of a caliber 9 mm.

An initial investigation by the homicide section showed that the victim was in the watch list of the Mabolo police as a drug pusher and a user.

In a separate report, a barangay tanod shot dead an unidentified victim yesterday morning. The victim allegedly tried to steal the motorcycle of his neighbor in Sitio Kalubihan, Naga.

According to PO3 Benson Aldemita of the Naga police, the victim who was onboard his own motorcycle went to the house of Darlene Tapdasan and tried to get her motorcycle.

Tapdasan sought the help of Paterno Alforque, a barangay tanod.

Alforque, 53, responded and shot the victim, who was in his 40s. The victim remained unidentified as of this writing.

He was wearing a white shirt, shorts and slippers.

Alforque surrendered to the police.

A drug pusher in Barangay Duljo-Fatima was also caught by the Talisay Police last Friday evening.

John Mar “Opao” Abelgas was arrested during a buy-bust in Sitio Cruzan, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

Shabu estimated to be worth P138,600 was confiscated by the police inside the suspect’s apartment.
