PCL prexy takes ex-officio board member seat

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO--Philippine Councilors' League (PCL) Pampanga Chapter president Porac Councilor Olga Frances "Fritzie" David-Dizon formally took his post as ex-officio member of the Pampanga Provincial Board (PB) over the weekend.

David-Dizon was welcomed into the PB through the motion of Third District Board Member Rosve Henson. David-Dizon qualified for the seat in the PB after winning in the recent PCL elections.

David-Dizon during her speech thanked the board members for their welcome and asked for their guidance in helping her become a better legislator. She added that she will continuously strive to pursue the interest of local municipalities and cities as well as issues in the town level in terms of progressive and empowerment legislation.

The new PCL president is the elder sister of Porac Vice-Mayor Dexter David and daughter of the late Porac Mayor Roy David and former Pampanga Acting Governor Edna De Ausen-David.

She was appointed board member after her mother died on November 9, 2010. Dizon, who decided not to seek a board member seat in 2013 to focus more on her family, was also the chief-of-staff of Governor Lilia Pineda.

David-Dizon said that work in the PB is not new to her and there are issues that she wishes to address through provincial legislation. She also urged those who opposed her in the last PCL elections to set political divisions aside and work for the common good of the province.
