BSP awards 14 partners in Panay, Negros

THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) awarded a total of 14 stakeholders and partners based in the islands of Panay and Negros during an appreciation lunch held in Iloilo City, August 16.

Monetary Board Member Valentin Araneta led the awards ceremony with a theme “Sustained Partnership, Sustained Economic Growth” for stakeholders of the BSP for Western Visayas and Negros Island Region.

The Iloilo event attests to the successful alliance that has helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an efficient payment and settlement system.

This year’s stakeholders awards in Western Visayas and Negros Island Region marks the fifth time that BSP has awarded stakeholders in both regions and is the sixth in a series of 12 regional events this year.

The 2016 awardees in Panay and Negros are Neda as Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Development of the Philippines, KJ Fairmart in Bacolod City, who was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms for the Business Expectations Survey in Western Visayas and Negros Island Region, and Southern Auto Mart and Trading Corporation also in Bacolod which was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms.

The Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs was awarded to Savemore Supermarket Libertad Branch in Bacolod and Fil Products Service Television for Clean Note Policy.

The Coin Recirculation was awarded to Junior Philippine Economics Society of the University of St. La Salle Bacolod and Calinog National Comprehensive High School, and “The Morning Show” of ABS-CBN TV 4 Bacolod, Iloilo Supermart Inc., and the Philippine Information Agency-Negros Oriental were awarded for Demonetization of the new design series.

The Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the conduct of information campaign was awarded to the Philippine Information Agency-Negros Occidental, West Visayas State University-College of Business and Management, Barangay Nagustan Council, Roxas City, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Negros Oriental.

Each awardees received the “Dynamic Balance Philippine Eagle” trophy crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor Ferdinand Cacnio.
