THE Phinma-Southwestern University Cobras defeated the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers, 88-64, at the New Cebu Coliseum, on Thursday, August 18.

Former two-time MVP Mark Tallo led the Cobras with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, followed by Bernie Bregondo who scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Jovanie Luz also chipped in 13 points.

The Cobras dominated the paint with Bregondo and Quentin Nzuzi protecting the paint, making it hard for the Panthers to get inside, forcing the latter to take contested long shots.

Nzuzi's presence also gave easy rotation plays to trounce the Panthers, giving their team a double-digit win.

The Cobras are still undefeated after three outings this season. They now have 3-0 (win-loss) record.

The Panthers were led by Roy Quiachon and Gilberto Sastrillas who got 10 points respectively, followed by Kenneth Cada with 9 points.

USPF tried to keep up with the Cobras but fell short to the latter's tight defense.

The Panthers are still winless after 3 outings, and now have a 0-3 (win-loss) record in the season.
