Dabawenyos can enjoy the celebration of Kadayawan Festival as weather forecast said Davao is expected to experience warm and humid temperature in the morning with a little chance of rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon.
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather forecast, the absence of Southwest Monsoon, which diverted to Central Luzon spawned above-average temperature that prevails in Davao City.
Pagasa Weather Observer Honey Perez said for Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21, Dabawenyos will experience a chance of isolated rain and thunderstorm in the afternoon. But it will be hot in the morning.
The state weather bureau has recorded between 26 to 25 degree Celsius on Friday while on Saturday's temperature will range between 25-34 degree Celsius.
Pagasa in their weather advisory said the people should bring umbrella as there is a chance to rain in the afternoon and also for sun protection.
According to Department of Health (DOH), exposure to high temperature can cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, heat injury, heat stroke and other illnesses.
Among DOH-recommended precautions against extreme heat are drinking more fluids and avoiding strenuous physical activity. Public were advised to also wear light clothing. (JVR)
