AUTHORITIES arrested on Wednesday, August 17, a fish vendor in a drug bust in Sta. Cruz town in Davao del Sur.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao Region, in coordination with the Sta. Cruz police, launched a drug bust around seven a.m. at Sitio Patulangon in Barangay Zone 1, Sta. Cruz that led to the arrest of Joseph Lopez Maldan, 45, of Coronon, Sta Cruz.
Maldan's involvement in illegal drug activities was reported by an informant to the PDEA-Davao.
Seized from the possession of the suspect were sachets of suspected crystal meth (shabu) and the P500 marked money.
A motorcycle believed to be owned by the suspect was also impounded by PDEA-Davao as it was used in his illegal drug trade activities.
Maldan is now detained the PDEA-Davao detention facility while the seized evidence were submitted to the laboratory for examinations.
Charges are now being readied against Maldan for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
