THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported there have been at least 20 suspected drug pushers killed in police operations since July 1.
DCPO spokesperson Catherine dela Rey said the office recently registered 25 suspected drug pushers killed in drug busts in the city.
The recent incident happened at around 6:40 p.m. in Barangay Lizada in Toril wherein suspect was identified as Mercury June Caramat Garcia.
Initial investigation conducted by the Toril police showed that the suspect resisted arrest and attempted to shoot the arresting operatives.
The suspect was found in possession of a loaded revolver and a sachet of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) also recovered one fired cartridge from Garcia's gun and another fired cartridge from caliber .9mm pistol.
The Villa Funeral Homes, where the suspect was brought, has also turned over to policemen two sachets of suspected marijuana recovered from the pocket of the suspect.
Dela Rey said the office also noted 172 suspected drug pushers were arrested in drug bust and 6,503 self-confessed drug pushers and users who surrendered to the authorities since last month.
