A VILLAGE official, who is also a drug personality surrenderee, was killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Monday.
Superintendent Rogelio Alabata, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula spokesman, identified the victim as Ben Hassier Anduhol, 46, a councilor in the village of Magdaup, Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Alabata said Anduhol was shot around 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Sitio Malapayon in the village of Poblacion, Ipil municipality.
Alabata said that Anduhol was seated outside the ancestral home with his wife when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle arrived and repeatedly shot the official.
He said Anduhol’s wife, Juvy, rushed the victim to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
He said the responding policemen have recovered five empty shells and a deformed slug of caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene.
He said Anduhol voluntarily surrendered on July 28 as drug pusher in line with the Oplan Double Barrel campaign of the police based on the record of the police in Ipil town.
