JMC, DCNHS bag volley crowns

THE Jose Maria College (JMC) and Davao City National High School (DCNHS) annexed titles Sunday in the 31st Kadayawan Inter-secondary School Invitational Volleyball Tournament at the Department of Public Works and Highways covered court.

JMC bounced back from a second set loss to defeat Ateneo de Davao University (Addu), 25-12, 23-25, 25-21 in their boys championship match.

JMC also beat the Ateneans in the preliminary round earlier.

DCNHS, for its part, survived a 25-22, 25-21 win over Addu lady Blue Knights to rule the distaff side.

Meanwhile, Victoria Nicole Sasuman of DCNHS was feted as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the best blocker, even as Keanna Adlao of Addu was named best in defense, Takako Fujimoto of ADDU as best server and best scorer and Thea Borres of DCNHS as the best setter for the girls division.

In the boys category, special awardees were Journee Cataag of JMC (MVP), Eli Johnson Plenos of ADDU (best server), Christian Jade Domingo (best setter) and Lourdz Frances Magno (best blocker, best scorer) and Karlo Agaban (best attacker). (ABM)
