Contractor vows efficient garbage collection service

IPM Construction and Development Corp. (IPM CDC), the new garbage collection contractor of Bacolod City, vowed to deliver efficient service to Bacolodnons.

The Manila-based firm is in-charge of the collection, hauling, and disposal of garbage and solid waste management services under a contract price of P59 million, covering the September 2 to December 31, 2016.

Their service shall be in accordance with Republic Act 9184 and its Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

Lawyer Goldwyn Nifras, chairman of the Bids and Awards Committee, said the contractor is required to have 10 units of 10-wheeler dump trucks; 10 mini compactors; four mini dump trucks; two big compactors; two hooklift trucks; one payloader; one tow truck; one fuel tanker; two Elf (service vehicles); and five motorcycles.

All collection equipment should be equipped with complete functional devices such as head lights, early warning devices, and collection trucks must also be equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) device at the start of the operation.

IPM-CDC president Isabelita Mercado said in her letter to the BAC dated August 22 that they will deliver the goods in accordance with the delivery schedule specified in the schedule of requirements.
