PRO-COR bags best advisory council plum

AFTER bagging the Best Police Strategy Management Unit in the country, Cordillera Police Regional Advisory Council recently also bagged the Outstanding Regional Advisory Council during the Center for Police Strategy Management 4th founding anniversary.

The advisory council was formed to help in transforming the Philippine National Police into a credible and effective police force and a requirement of the Police Transformation and Development program of the government in line with its Performance Governance System (PGS) to pursue the PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and upholding the Rule of Law (Patrol) Plan 2030.

Headed by Chief Superintendent Noel Baraceros, the CPSM is the PNP's strategy management facility tasked to ensure the continued implementation of the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 and other flagship programs of the PNP aimed at addressing corruption, maintaining political stability and upholding the rule of law.

Earlier, the Police Regional Office of the Cordillera was hailed as the Best Police Strategy Management Unit during the 115th Police Service anniversary on August 17.

Deputy regional director for administration C/Supt. Robert Quenery received in behalf of PRO-Cor the plaque and streamer from the President during the ceremonies.

The PNP regional office garnered 100 percent rating last year based on their Functionality Report, and another for being the first police regional office to confer the compliance status of the Patrol Plan 2030 down to its lowest units and conducted the PGS Boot Camp which is an effective mechanism to enlist people and transform them as advocates of the PGS.

Earlier this March, 23 of the PRO-Cor municipal police stations and three PNP Provincial Public Safety Companies were conferred the "compliant status" for passing three phases of the PGS of PATROL Plan 2030.

Eight of the 23 units were given the silver eagle awards for garnering more than 90 percent ratings.

PATROL Plan 2030 is under the PNP Center for Police Strategy Management (CPSM), is targeted through responsible integration, coordination, and monitoring of the implementation of the PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding the Rule of Law or P.A.T.R.O.L.

This is not the first time for PRO-Cor to be lauded as the best PNP unit nationwide. The regional police command was pronounced the Best Police Regional Office back in 2002 and 2005, while in 2006 and 2009 they were also amongst the finalist for the said recognition.

C/Supt. Benjamin Lusad, director of the PNP Special Action Force and former director of Benguet PPO, also received the plaque and streamer for his unit, which was conferred the Best National Operational Support Unit during the same occasion.

Also given plaques of appreciation is PNP Deputy Chief for Operations and the former chief of PRO-Cor, Director Benjamin Magalong for invaluable services and contributions Patrol Plan 2030.
