THE new leadership of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) Cebu Chapter vowed to equip councilors with new skills and knowledge by conducting more training and seminars for them.
Catmon Councilor Earl Tidy H. Oyas, who won the PCL Cebu top post unopposed, said that he and the rest of the officers will continue the programs of the league and to support to programs of Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.
“Because we are all allies of the governor, we will support his programs as well as the vice governor’s,” he said in Cebuano.
He, however, pointed out that the PCL is “one family” and that they don’t have any political colors.
The other PCL officers are Richard France Aznar of Talisay City (vice president), Nenita Ceniza-Layese of Mandaue City (secretary), Gamaliel Lumpas of Sogod (treasurer) and Irving P. Gamallo of Samboan (auditor).
Of the 473 councilors in the Cebu, 448 showed up for the elections of the new set of officers recently held at the Captiol Social Hall. Camille L. Pateres, USJ-R Journalism Intern
