2 runners ‘abducted’; Drug suspect shot

A COUPLE was abducted by a drug surrenderer and another person in Bacolod City early Sunday, August 28.

Police identified the victims as Joem Villacojer and his partner Roselyn Destua.

Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias Jr., head of Police Station 2, said the victims were set to have an illegal drug transaction with a certain Ricky Sereño and his female companion at 26th Lacson Street.

Around 1:30 p.m., they were asked to board a vehicle and were handcuffed and threatened at gunpoint while they were on their way to Villa Lucasan in Barangay Mandalagan.

Villacojer was able to grab the suspect’s firearm and hit the glass window, prompting the suspects to jump off the vehicle while Villacojer drove the vehicle toward the police station. He sustained minor injuries.

Villarias said Sereño and his companion informed Police Station 3 about a carnapped vehicle after the incident but they were not able to officially record it as a report.

Police recovered from the vehicle Sereño's identification card, a 9mm glock issued by the Philippine National Police (PNP), and a pair of handcuffs.

Villarias said Sereño was a drug surrenderer of Police Station 8 and is under police monitoring.

“We are validating information that can lead to the suspects’ whereabouts,” he added.
