Regus' biggest work center to open in Davao City

WORLD leading provider of flexible work spaces, Regus, will open its first and biggest center in Mindanao on September 8 at the Damosa IT Park in Davao City.

The company’s Davao footprint partner is is Damosa Land, Inc., the real estate arm of Anflo Management and Investment Corp.

“We are bringing in the biggest Regus center here, that's how bullish we are for Davao. We are betting very big on this project,” Damosa Land vice president Ricardo Floirendo Lagdameo said Friday at the sidelines of the company’s Excellence Awards Night at Seda-Abreeza Hotel, Davao City.

He said allowing the Regus expansion here is like giving an office space solution to the Davao market.

“We feel going forward, this is a good solution for people who are not sure, who, where they want to invest in Davao and how long do they want to invest in the city and how many seats in the company they need, Regus presence here is the solution to that,” Lagdameo said.

The new center will be the company’s location number 25.

The center in Davao will have 350 workstations in a 1,600 sq.m. office area. The Regus centers usually have an average size of 225 stations.

Regus-Davao will offer the same shared and dedicated work spaces.

Regus, a London-listed company will occupy the whole of the 4th floor of the five-storey Topaz Tower at the IT Park.

Lagdameo said that with Regus, the tower will be 95 percent full.

“You can go to Regus, rent an office say for one person or 40 people and you can rent it for one week, one month or a year, it is very flexible,” Lagdameo said.

The decision of Regus and Damosa Land to open a Davao center was finalized in February 2016.

“We see an opportunity here and we will make the investment. Real estate is booming and one of the sectors we are looking at is office spaces,” Lagdameo said.

With the partnership, Damosa Land invested in putting up the structures and Regus are responsible for the entire operation through its global booking system.

Regus has a total of 3,000 centers worldwide. It opened its first center about 30 years ago in Brussels. Now, it has presence in 120 countries. Regus opened its first center in the Philippines in Makati in 1999.
