Tujan: No two left feet on an awesome wedding

EVERYBODY can get a little shy on the dance floor, but a wedding with an empty funk floor, groove ground, boogie zone is just awful. Good thing, this catastrophe didn’t befall the Kardo-Devilleres wedding day.

If you are wondering how to get your wedding guests dancing (and keep them dancing) all day long, take the cue from Davao’s Dance Guru Mr. Liclic Garcia, and I guarantee everyone is out on the dance floor having the time of their lives.

“As beautiful as a wedding ceremony is, and as delicious as wedding cake is, it really is the partying that makes a wedding memorable. It's supposed to be the happiest day of your life, and that sentiment is always reflected by how much fun you're having on your big day”, this according to Lic-Lic Garcia.

Having made their vows legally binding on Monday, August 8, 2016, it was clearly important to Jhujin and Julie Anne to also have a religious ceremony as they cemented their love and chose Sacred Heart of Jesus Church as the setting for their romantic occasion.

Organized by Mrs. Anne Layague, the wedding was truly a blast and filled with wild moments, concert feel, guitar riffs, trivia games, merriment, surprises and lots of dances.

The couple’s dancing routine and the bridal party’s choreographed numbers brought their wedding guests instantly to their feet, cheering. And when the bride makes her entrance, white satin churning as she shifts into hip-slinging overdrive, pumping her bouquet in the air, she gets the standing ovation she deserves.

Their wedding dance playlist includes James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You” to Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk”. Bumping formalities in most weddings, I could say that it was the most relaxed nuptial I have ever hosted. The guest lists composed mainly of long-time friends, neighbors, and relatives abroad.

Carrying a bouquet of white roses and tulips, all eyes were on Julie Anne as she made her way from the imposing church to a waiting bridal car to be whisked off to her lavish wedding celebration at Grand Menseng Hotel.

Jhujin looked dapper for the happy occasion while wearing a black tuxedo with a matching bow tie. While his outfit had certainly drawn attention, it was his infectious smile that made him shine almost as brightly as his bride on the big day.

But apart from all these festivities, it was an emotional moment for the couple’s parents as well. Both parents of Julie Anne and Jhujin, Mr. and Mrs. Noel and Amelie Devilleres, and Mr. Romeo Kado and Jinna Kado said that they are happy for Julie and Jhujin.

Best Man Jay-R Kado and Maid of Honor Jessa Mae Devilleres did the toast, veering away from the usual standards of a sweet script. Both messages were fun and heart-warming. They did steal the show with their toast.

Perfection: The whole day was just great. Seeing them grinning from ear to ear while photographed by Davao’s best, Mr. Jerry Sy, their stunning wedding photos will be lifelong reminders of the couple's special day.
