P5-B world-class container port terminal opens Sept. 2

THE expanded P5 billion Davao International Container Terminal, Inc. (DICT), touted as the most modern container port terminal in Mindanao, will finally be inaugurated on September 2.

A joint venture between the homegrown Anflo Management and Investment Corp. (Anflocor) and multinational corporation Dole-Stanfilco, the leading producers and exporters of fresh Cavendish bananas in the Philippines, DICT is seen to become the industry leader in port logistics in Mindanao and will address the growing volume of cargoes being shipped via refrigerated containers.

Located at the 63-hectare Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo City, DICT offers world-class container terminal facilities and services in this heavily agricultural region, It will help ensure the global competitiveness of Mindanao's export-grade products.

Ricardo Lagdaneo, Damosa Land, Inc. vice president, earlier said DICT is the industrial estate's first locator.

Formerly known as San Vicente Terminal and Brokerage Services, Inc., DICT has a long history in port operations, servicing the stevedoring and arrastre requirements of break bulk shipments of fresh produce like bananas and pineapples at Tadeco wharf.

Tadeco is the flagship company of Anflocor and is considered as the global leader in the banana industry in terms of yield per hectare.
