THE Lady Knights Football Club (FC) finished third in the Girls 15 years old and under division of the recently concluded Ceres Cup Football Festival held at the Ayala Football pitch in Bacolod City over the weekend.
Davao Football Association (DFA) women's committee chair and the team's coach Rachelle delos Reyes, in a Facebook chat with Sun.Star Davao on Tuesday, said Lady Knights eked out a 4-1 win over San Carlos City.
"Nagtop 1 man ta sa atong bracket after eliminations tapos second ang san carlos team. Sa pikas bracket ang Ateneo Cebu ang naglead then second ang Tamasak Barotac Nuevo. Pagcross-over semis na, naglisod na ug convert atong players mao to nagbattle ta against San Carlos City team sa third place (We topped our bracket after the eliminations while the San Carlos team was second. Ateneo de Cebu topped the other bracket followed by Tamasak Barotac Nuevo. In the crossover semis, our players struggled to convert their attempts, that's why we played San Carlos City team in the battle for third)," she said.
Angela Bea De Luna, Patricia Erika Francisco, Felice Gabrielle Tuason, Joyce Semacio, Rizzaline Francisco, Azenith Ducase Jessica Pido, Julienne Meredith Mirto, Beatrix Angelica Magno and Bianca Magpantay completed Lady Knights' roster.
The Lady Knights FC 18-U team however was eliminated in the quarter-finals. (KRP)
