Amanda Griffin-Jacob's book-signing

CELEBRITY mompreneur-turned-author Amanda Griffin-Jacob met with the Dabawenyos for a book-signing activity at the Abreeza Mall Activity Center last May 8.

The book "Project Mom: Our Natural Approach to Motherhood" provides some strategies on how to keep up with the challenges posed by motherhood.

"Project Mom," which she co-authored with another celebrity mom, Bianca Araneta-Elizalde, also serves as a guide for mothers going through pregnancy up to their baby's first birthday.

In its synopsis, it was cited that "Project Mom is a straightforward guide designed to make your parenthood easier."

"Amanda and Bianca draw on their knowledge and experience to inspire new moms to discover motherhood in ways they may not have envisioned. They advocate for a natural, eco-friendly approach to promote healthy choices for mom and baby alike, packing in useful information to navigate pregnancy all the way through to the baby's first birthday," the book shared.

Before the book-signing finally kicked-off a little past 4 p.m., there was a short interview done by one of Davao's empowered moms, Joey Sy-Domingo, to the author who arrived with two of her children, her second (a boy who is around three years old) and 10-week-old baby girl.

The gorgeous mother of three revealed that it was never her dream to write a book.

"Writing wasn't actually something that I'd like to do," said Amanda, who was born to an English father and a Filipina mother.

She also added that her co-author really influenced her to be part of the book.

"When I was still a new mom, Bianca was really instrumental... All the advice I got from her was definitely helpful," she said.

When she started writing the book, Amanda admitted that she struggled with it especially that his son was only four months old then. But with determination and commitment for mothers like her, she definitely got the motivation to finish the project.

In the book, Amanda wrote about the reality of motherhood, particularly the first three weeks of motherhood.

"This is not just for new moms but also for mommies who have older kids," the vegetarian mom said.

So, what can we expect from Amanda this year?

"I just gave birth two months ago so I'm now a mom of three. I wanna prioritize my family first this year... For me, motherhood is one of the toughest jobs in the world but it is also the most rewarding," she concluded.
