THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera received 14 awards during the Philippine National Police celebration of their 115th anniversary held in Camp Bado Dangwa on Friday morning, September 2.
PNP Police Director General Ronald Dela Rosa handed the award to regional director Police Chief Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona during the event with the theme “Hamon ng Pagbabago, Pinag-ibayong Serbisyo” honored seven outstanding personnel and seven units from the region for their accomplishments and contributions for the calendar year 2016.
Dela Rosa cited the personnel and unit awardees as the new breed of heroes following more than a century of the PNP’s public service for the Filipino people.
The PNP chief encouraged all members of PRO-Cordillera to continue in demonstrating and inspiring the various police units in the entire country.
“Today, the challenges continue to come and we who are left to carry on the work continue to face the daunting task of ensuring the safety and security of every Filipino,” Dela Rosa said emphasizing the important role of PNP in building a good nation.
Dela Rosa also called for the unity of the PNP to serve and back up the present administration in its all-out war against illegal-drugs in pursuit of the much needed change.
“Kahit saang probinsya tayo, i-isa lang ang ating layunin at yan ang panatilihing ligtas an gating mga kababayan at maging mapayapa ang ating lansangan,” he added.
Awardees during the PNP anniversary are Superintendent Porfirio Calagan as Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration, Superintendent Elmer Ragay as Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations, Senior Inspector Jonathan Abalaos as Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer, Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4) Reynaldo Baloran as Best Senior Police Non-commissioned Officer, PO3 Philip Belly as Best Junior Police Non-commissioned Officer, NUP Adelaida Dumag as Best Non-Uniformed Personnel (supervisory level), and NUP Karen Annasiw as Best Non-Uniformed Personnel (non-supervisory level).
Other awardees are the Abra Provincial Police Office, Lagangilang Municipal Police Station, Ifugao Provincial Public Safety Company, 3rd Regional Public Safety Company, Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit-Cordillera, Women and Children Police Division-Baguio City, and the Regional Communications and Electronics Office.
Plaque of Merits were also given to Kalinga PPO, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-CAR, TOG 1, 1st Air Division-Philippine Air Force, 503rd BDE, 5th ID, PA, TOG 2, 2nd Air Division, PAF, 24th IB, 702nd BDE, 7th ID, PA, and 25th SAC, 2nd SAB, SAF.
Apart from the awarding ceremonies, marijuana burning was also done, followed by the turnover of keys for the 16 brand new Mahindra Scorpion vehicles to the various PRO-Corillera offices, and the ground breaking for the proposed Sinagtala Building in Camp Dangwa.
