2 drug surrenderees nabbed in drug bust

TWO drug surrenderees were caught during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City last Wednesday night.

The Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch (CIB) arrested Nicomedes Aton, 49, and Rodman Sullano, 18, in the house of the former in Sitio Atabay past 9 p.m.

In coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7, the team from CIB led by Senior Insp. Joey Bicoy conducted the operation after they received information from a concerned citizen that the two continued to sell illegal drugs.

The suspects were caught after the police decoy bought a sachet of suspected shabu for P200 from them.

Bicoy said Aton and Sullano, a resident of Sitio Masiwa in Barangay Marigondon, had surrendered to Lapu-Lapu Police Station 4.

Both suspects were on the drug watch list of the police station for peddling illegal drugs.

Uyab ni Aton ni si Sullano. Silbi mag-partner ni sila sa negosyo (Sullano is Aton’s boyfriend. They’re also partners in selling drugs),” Bicoy said.

According to the suspects, they continued to sell drugs because of poverty and they could not find employment, the police officer said.

Eight sachets and a medium pack of suspected shabu, the P200 buy-bust money and another P530 in cash were seized from Aton, while a sachet was confiscated from Sullano.

Bicoy said the drugs confiscated were worth P92,000.

The suspects were detained at the Lapu-Lapu Police Office Holding Cell.
