Man dies, 3 hurt in stabbing

A RESIDENT of Bacolod City was killed while three others were injured in separate stabbing incidents in Negros Occidental on September 18.

In Bacolod, Jake Infante, 28, of Galo Street, Barangay 19 was stabbed to death by Henjie “Kumpol” Mosqueda, 39, of Barangay Vista Alegre.

Senior Inspector John Ganzon, head of Police Station 4, said Infante was inside his house when Mosqueda attacked him with a bladed weapon.

Infante sustained a lone stab wound and was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Mosqueda was invited by Infante to a gathering at their house when a misunderstanding transpired between them, resulting to the stabbing incident.

Still in Bacolod, two persons were injured after they were stabbed by three men at San Sebastian-Mabini Streets in Barangay 30.

Police identified the victims as Rey Bayarcal, 21 and Michael Aldino, 24.

Investigation showed the victims were walking when they were mauled by suspects Mike Canillo, 33, of San Carlos City; Arnel Borca, 42, of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City; and Melchor Viajante, 19, of Kabankalan City.

The suspects were arrested in a follow-up operation. Recovered from their possession was a belt knife.

In Cadiz City, an elderly man was hurt after he was stabbed by a fish vendor at Purok Maligaya, Barangay Sicaba.

Reinfredo Ondoy, 61, and Reynaldo Britaña Jr. were drunk when a misunderstanding ensued between them, police records showed.

Britaña stabbed Ondoy with a broken liquor bottle.
