WHAT is Flazo?
Flazo is Brazo with a twist-a pastry inspired by the popular Brazo de Mercedes, created with love by one of Davao's premier Social Events Host/Radio DJ/Voice-Over artist, wife and doting Mom and the list goes on for Joey Sy-Domingo.
The mouth-watering and sweet high Flazo comes in cupcake and bite sizes. It comes in different flavors like the Original Custard, Dark Chocolate, Ube, Mango, Banana, Durian, Red Bean, Matcha, and Pandan.
The first Flazo was made last September 2013 when Joey decided to serve it to her lovely daughter, Jia and her party guests. Flazo then became an instant hit. It took months of trial and error and lots of mistakes to get her Flazo to the level of what her Flazo fans describe as "perfection."
Joey explained that Flazo is unique in a lot of ways because it has to be done very cautiously.
"During the baking process, everything is monitored and handled with extra care: from the mixing of the exact amount of ingredients, piping the meringue onto the cups, patience to wait as well the uniformity of filling each Flazo with flavors," Joey said.
"Even putting the Flazos in the box is a tricky one. Flazo is definitely one-of-a-kind not just because of its appearance and taste but also because of how it is made," she added.
What had started as a hobby to please her daughter, Jia and everyone around her had now risen into a thriving enterprise. By also bringing it to social media, it didn't take long to make the rounds in every home after a plethora of good comments and pictures came in from satisfied customers. It indeed became phenomenal.
And as more people are driven with curiosity over Flazo, Joey decided to take her hobby to the next level by opening a kiosk last September 17 at Felcris Centrale. Ultimately, she made the right decision and during the opening day, all Flazos were sold -out.
The Flazo kiosk design and the eye-catching pastry box was the brainchild of her daughter Jia, who prodded her Mom to put a characteristically sunny and bursting with color stall. The colorful kiosk was inspired by Jia's drawings.
Jia is the inspiration of Flazo. It is her favorite dessert and she wants more people to experience the sweet treat and devour the different flavors.
Get a Flazo for free and share the "sweetness of life" by simply buying a box of Flazo. Write a special sweet message on a Flazo post-it and paste it on the Flazo wall. Anyone who drops by the Flazo kiosk may pick one note/quote from the Flazo wall and claim one bite size Flazo with a flavor of your own choice.
Flazo doesn't just have an inviting appearance, needless to say, a picture-perfect, it is a dessert champion.
