SEVEN men, including one linked to suspected drug lord Franz Sabalones, and a minor were arrested in separate police operations in Talisay City since Wednesday.
Talisay City Police Chief Aileen Recla confirmed that some drug personalities were also into illegal gambling.
Last Thursday dawn, police operatives from Minglanilla, Talisay and Naga City, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group(CIDG), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7 (PDEA7) and Philippine Intelligence Branch(PIB) conducted an anti-illegal drug operation that resulted to the arrest of Reny Gabison, 31, and a 16-year-old teenager in Barangay Tanke, Talisay City at 12:45 a.m. yesterday.
Confiscated from Gabison and from his companion were eight small sachets of suspected shabu.
Also arrested were Ernesto Cabigas, 36, and Robel Napalla, 27, both from Sitio Rattan, Jeff Constantino, 20, of Sitio Galaxy, and Eugene Hermosisima, 48, of Sitio Tunga, in the same barangay.
Warrant
Hermossima has an existing arrest warrant from the Regional Trial Court Branch 21 in Cebu City for illegal drug possession.
Confiscated from Hermossima and his cohorts were various drug paraphernalia.
The team were also able to confiscate four video carrera machines that were found during the operation.
In a separate interview, the 16-year-old suspect admitted that he uses drugs but denies selling them.
He disclosed that the sachet confiscated from him was from his cousin.
Bulacao bust
A day before, SPO3 Vincent Taladua and operatives of the Talisay City Police Station arrested Junry “Hayop” Bacalso in Mansueto Village in Barangay Bulacao during a buy-bust operation.
At 9 a.m., police received a report from a concerned citizen that Bacalso has long been engaged in illegal drug transactions in an online casino near a commercial mall in Tabunok.
At 3 p.m. of the same day, Taladua and his operatives went to Bacalso’s house in Mansueto Village to conduct a buy-bust operation.
Bacalso was arrested after he was caught in the act of selling drugs to a police asset during the operation.
Confiscated from Bacalso are seven small sachets of suspected shabu with estimated value of P1,540 and P500 marked money.
Taladua disclosed that Bacalso was linked to suspected drug lord Franz Sabalones.
