When her family and some partners put up Sun.Star Daily in 1982, brother Jesus “Sonny” B. Garcia Jr. asked her to handle the paper’s women’s page.
Knowing that she had edited for two years the St. Theresa’s College paper, The Star, Sonny was confident she could handle the responsibility.
And handle it she did, initially co-writing a column, “Three Eves,” and filling the women’s page with articles about home, gardens and travel.
That single page has since expanded to what is now the multi-page Live! section of Sun.Star Cebu. Formerly executive editor and now editorial consultant of Live!, Nelia has gone solo in writing her column, “Eve.”
