13 drug suspects arrested in 1-week operation in Bacolod

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has arrested 13 individuals involved in drug-related activities and seized approximately P2 million worth of shabu and marijuana during a one-week operation in Bacolod City.

BCPO records showed that from May 26 to June 1, 2025, a total of 10 drug bust were conducted, resulting in the seizure of 137 grams of shabu valued at an estimated P931,200 and 9,800 grams of marijuana with estimated market value of P1,297,500.

All suspects have been charged with violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

During the same period, about seven individuals with pending arrest warrants were apprehended.

As part of its campaign against illegal firearms under the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Katok program, BCPO also seized three homemad firearms.

Police also conducted four operations against illegal gambling, which violate Presidential Decrees 1602 and 449, leading to the arrest of seven individuals and the recovery of P960 in betting money. Cases have been filed in court against the offenders.

BCPO Director Colonel Joeresty Coronica commended his teams for their excellent performance in combating criminality, emphasizing that focused police operations remain a top priority in the pursuit of a peaceful and orderly community. (MAP)
