2 brothers electrocuted in Binalbagan

TWO brothers died after they were electrocuted while fixing a wire of the canopy of a restaurant on Don Pedro Avenue, Barangay Pedro, Binalabagan, Negros Occidental on Monday, June 2, 2025.

Police identified the fatalities as alias Dexter, 45, and his older brother Roilan, 48, both residents of Barangay Santo Rosario, Binalbagan.

Major Jun Ray Batadlan, Binalbagan Municipal Police Station chief, said the two victims were hired by a restaurant owner to fix their wire in a canopy around 1:30 p.m.

He said Dexter was assisting his brother when he accidentally touched the post of the canopy with an open wire and was electrocuted.

Dexter fell to the ground and Roilan tried to help him, but he was also electrocuted.

The victims were rushed to Binalbagan Infirmary Clinic, but they did not survive.

Batadlan said the victims were also relatives of the owner of the restaurant, who signified to help their families. (MAP)
