Accept first job offers, new grads told

AS NEW graduates embark on finding jobs this summer, the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) advised them not to be very selective in accepting offers.

Dole Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said it would be better if the new members of the labor force would accept the first offers that come their way.

“For the first-time job seekers, a piece of advice I can give is to accept the first job that comes your way and which fit your qualifications,” said Baldoz. “This is the way to earn experience and pick up job-ready skills.”

Baldoz also reiterated her call to job seekers to participate in the numerous job fairs set from April to June.

She said about 200 job fairs are set to be conducted in 16 regions nationwide.

“This is one of the best ways you can match yourselves with productive opportunities, or even be hired-on-the-spot during job fairs,” she said. (HDT/Sunnex)
