THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recovered another P823,500 worth of dried marijuana leaves and liquid marijuana in a followup operation in Oriarte Subdivision, Barangay 3, Poblacion, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 2025.

Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) head, said they recovered six bricks of dried marijuana leaves, one pack of plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves and 23 cartridges containing liquid marijuana and other non-drug items from the residence of alias “Rolyn,” who was arrested in a drug bust operation in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City on Monday evening, May 26.

Police recovered from Rolyn and his two companions identified as alias “French,” a therapist, and resident of Barangay Banago; and alias “Ryan,” a resident of Barangay Sum-ag, both in Bacolod City, several sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams with estimated market value of P68,000, 3, 800 grams of dried marijuana leaves with estimated market value of P456,00, and the marked money.

After their apprehension, Benitez said Rolyn admitted to the police that there were still some supplies of dried marijuana and liquid marijuana left in their house.

He said they coordinated with the La Carlota City Police Station as well as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and barangay officials that resulted in the recovery of the illegal drugs.

He added the three suspects had been under surveillance for almost a month for operating in the area of Barangay Tangub.

Benitez noted that liquid marijuana is processed marijuana transformed into syrup form, sold in cartridges or small bottles, and suitable for vaping.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. They will be charged with violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

BCPO is also coordinating with the City Government to conduct inspections of various vaping stores in the city. (MAP)
