AN AMERICAN national and his child were injured in a road accident in Purok 3, Barangay 4, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2025.

Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Grande, Himamaylan City Police Station chief, said the victim, a 55-year-old, and his minor child, both residents of Purok 9, Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, sustained injuries and rushed to a hospital in Himamaylan City.

Investigation showed the American national was driving a motorcycle along with his child around 1:30 p.m. when they crashed into a truck driven by a 40-year-old man, a resident of Caloocan City.

Grande said the truck was travelling towards Kabankalan City while the American national and his child were travelling towards north direction.

He said the American national overtook another vehicle, but he lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to swerve and crashed into a truck.

Grande added the truck driver also voluntarily surrendered and released after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary period Friday morning, May 30.

He disclosed that the American national and his child are in stable conditions. (MAP)
