Another P9.1M shabu seized in Bacolod

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized another P9.1 million worth of substance believed to be shabu in a drug bust in Jade Court 2, Purok Hollow Block, Barangay Singcang-Airport, on Sunday afternoon, May 18, 2025.

The operation also led to the arrest of Cherry Mae Jover, 41, a resident of Barangay San Pedro, Iloilo City.

BCPO records showed Jover was arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 after selling a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer at 3:21 p.m.

Police recovered from Jover’s possession five knot tied plastics and one big transparent plastic containing shabu weighing 1,100 grams, P1,000 marked money, P99,000 boodle money, a shoulder bag, and a weighing scale.

Police said Jover has been classified as a high-value drug personality in Bacolod City.

The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. She will be charged with violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On Sunday morning, BCPO also seized an estimated P23.8 million worth of substance believed to be shabu in separate drug busts in Barangays 2 and Estefania.

The operations, carried out by operatives from City Drugs Enforcement Unit and Police Station 2, led to the arrest of Jom Flynn Banquillo, 37, a resident of Country Homes Subdivision, Barangay Estefania; and Robert Delos Santos, 41, a resident of Purok 42, Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte, both in Bacolod City.
