THE Bacolod City Council has approved a resolution expressing their deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family of the late lawyer Lyndon Caña, who passed away on November 4, 2021.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Simplicia Distrito, was approved during the regular session of the City Council on Wednesday afternoon, November 10.

Distrito said Caña is a former member of the city council who served from 2001 until 2007.

“During his time as a member of this august body, Caña had the most authored ordinances and resolutions that focused on diverse issues and sectors ranging from the welfare of the youth, marginalized sectors, education, agriculture and health,” she said.

She added that his expertise and dedication as a member of the city council were proven by his perfect attendance and brilliancy in giving his ideas or insights on matters raised before the council.

Distrito noted that Caña was awarded and recognized as one of the Outstanding Councilors of the Philippines by the Philippine Councilors’ League, the Junior Chamber International Philippines and the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines.

“Aside from being a topnotch Bacolod councilor, Caña was also a proficient civic leader and a committed servant of God,” Distrito said.

She said Caña is the epitome of a public servant that possesses moral, professional and academic excellence that his ways have inspired and touched so many people not just here in the city but from other places as well.

“Until his death, Caña remained to each one of us as a dear friend, a favorite colleague, an inspiring leader, a responsible son, a concerned brother, a caring father and a loving husband,” she added.
