THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized approximately P2.693 million worth of shabu during a one-week operation in Bacolod City that led to the arrest of 15 drug personalities.

BCPO records showed that from April 28 to May 4, 2025, a total of 12 drug busts were conducted, resulting in the seizure of 396.1 grams of shabu valued at an estimated P2,693,480.

All suspects have been charged with violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

During the same period, about four individuals with pending arrest warrants were apprehended, including one most-wanted person and three others charged with various offenses.

As part of its campaign against illegal firearms under the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Katok program, BCPO also seized two loose firearms.

A total of six loose firearms were also surrendered and deposited to BCPO.

Police also conducted two operations against illegal gambling, which violated Presidential Decrees 1602 and 449, leading to the arrest of six suspects.

BCPO Director Colonel Joeresty Coronica also lauded the operating units and their personnel for doing their job against all forms of criminality.

Coronica said the police should perform well to address the crime incidents and to maintain the peace and order in the city.

He emphasizes the importance of cooperation with the community, especially in the campaign against illegal activities in Bacolod City. (MAP)
