
THE Bacolod City Police Station 7 is facing difficulty in identifying the perpetrators behind the killing of a van driver at Purok San Sebastian, Barangay Sum -ag, Bacolod City on April 5, 2025.
Captain Andy Ofalia, commander of Police Station 9, said investigators are still gathering evidence to determine the identities of the suspects in the killing of Michael Yema, 45, a resident of Barangay Vista Alegre.
He said they have no lead yet on the identities of the assailants.
He added that they will check if there's a security camera in the area.
On Friday evening, Yema was walking along Purok San Sebastian when unidentified assailant approached and fired at him several times.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his head. He was brought to the South Bacolod General Hospital, but Yema did not survive.
Police recovered from the scene of the crime several empty shells of unidentified firearms.
Ofalia said they are eyeing personal grudges or involvement in illegal activity as possible motives for the killing of the victim.
He said they are still conducting a thorough investigation to identify and arrest the suspects. (MAP)
