Bago, Canlaon crowned asSuta kag Diwata sang Kanlaon 2023

Suta sang Bago City Clint John Sibugan’and Diwata sang Canlaon City Yzeth Calumba were hailedwinners of the Suta kag Diwata sang Kanlaon 2023 on Thursday, August 10, at San Carlos City Auditorium.

Calumba and Sibugan amazed the panel of judges, guests, and crowd as they showcased their beauty, elegance, and intelligence.

On the other hand, Diwata sang San Carlos City Mipsen Calves and Suta sang Canlaon City Gio Blanco, placed 1st runner up; and Diwata sang Bago City Macy Albarico and Suta sang La Castellana John Villaflor hailed 2nd runner up.

For special and minor awards, Suta sang municipality of Murcia John Dato-on and Diwata sang municipality La Castellana Ar Shell Paniergo was awarded as Mr. and Miss Congeniality; Suta sang San Carlos City Stefano Sandag and Paniergo received the sash for Mr. and Miss Professionalism; Sandag and Diwata sang municipality of La Carlota Erish Cascarro awarded as best in Photogenic; Villaflor and Calumba, best in Production Number; Sibugan and Albarico, best in Earth Warrior Inspired Costume; and Villaflor and Calumba was best in modernized Barong and Flipiñana.

Winners received a cash prize of P25,000 for the 5th Suta kag Diwata sang Kanlaon 2023, P20,000 for 1st runner up, P15,000 for 3rd runner up, P5,000 for consolation prize, and P1,000 for special and minor awards.

The pageant was participated by 12 candidates of the 6 local government units (LGUs) within the vicinity of Mt. Kanlaon such as the cities of San Carlos, Bago, Canlaon, La Carlota, and municipalities of La Castellana and Murcia.

Meanwhile, winners for the Body Painting contest were also named during the pageant including Jessa Marie Gustilo, an artist from the municipality of La Castellana who brought home the championship and a P6,000 cash prize; Danilo Gatucao Jr. of La Carlota City as 2nd placer and received P5,000; and Bob Bartulin of San Carlos City as 3rd placer and received P4,000.

Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office-Negros Occidental Technical Services Division Chief Catherine Balasa thanked city officials, guests, and participants of every LGU for making the event possible.

Present during the pageant were City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo, Peoples Park Mgt. Office Focal Person Dr. Archilles Ponferrada, Airene Rose Gustilo, Executive Assistant to the City Mayor, and other representatives of the six participating LGUs and Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
