Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Partylist Second Nominee Teddy Baguilat officiated the ceremonial oath-taking of Talisay City's Team SAGA as new members of the Liberal Party (LP) on Wednesday.
Baguilat expressed the party's intention to make Talisay City a hub for LP after the May elections. He also mentioned that aside from Talisay, LP has gained several new members in Negros Oriental.
ML's first nominee is former Senator Leila de Lima, while former Representative Erin TaƱada is the party's third nominee.
Baguilat revealed that after the 2016 elections, many LP members joined other political parties, leaving the party with only seven representatives. However, the party is aiming to increase its representation to 25 congressmen following the May elections.
Meanwhile, Talisay City Vice Mayoralty candidate Sammuel Siote shared that their campaign has been progressing smoothly. "The people really want change, and we are committed to delivering it by fulfilling our campaign promises, particularly in providing better services in health, education, and infrastructure development, among others," he said.
