ONE hundred two scholars have completed the institution and competency-based trainings at the Provincial Government-run Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) in Bacolod City Friday, November 29.

Of the number, 51 completed the Nihongo Culture Course, while 49 finished Contact Center Services NC II.

Two foreign students from Japan have completed English Language Proficiency (ELP) course.

Governor Eugenio Lacson, in a message delivered by Executive Assistant Charina Magallanes-Tan, told the graduates that they are the flag bearers of NOLITC and that they carry with them the name of the province.

Lacson encouraged them to show the world not just the skills they have but also their good work ethics.

"Skills and hard work coupled with work ethics are your sure vehicles for success," he added.

Katsutoshi Furukawa, volunteer teacher for the Nihongo Culture Course, announced that five graduates of his Stage II and III classes passed the N5 exam.

Furukawa has been helping the center as a volunteer teacher since 2016.

The foreign students who completed the ELP course were Komei Nonaka and Kazuki Imanishi. They studied at NOLITC for eight months.

NOLITC, meanwhile, is still offering scholarship slots for residents of Negros Occidental in various qualifications, including Contact Center Services, Software Development Training Program and Medical Assistant Course.

Interested applicants may visit or apply at the center at the Paglaum Sports Complex in the city.
