6th District LGUs get livestock, hog cholera vax from Province

Gov. Bong Lacson led the ceremonial turnover of cattle, carabao, goat, feeds, free-range chicks, and Hog Cholera vaccines to Sixth District LGUs of Negros Occidental, today.

The activity was held in Brgy. Dancalan, Ilog, attended by 6th District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Provincial Veterinary Office In-charge Dr. Placeda Lemana, Ilog Municipal Agriculturist Rodante Perez, and other local officials, among others.

The cattle, carabao, goat, and feeds were given to the LGUs of Ilog, Candoni, Cauayan, and Kabankalan, as part of the P36.5 million Negros Occidental Typhoon Odette Livestock and Poultry Rehabilitation Program.

Meanwhile, the Hog Cholera vaccines worth a total of P2.9 million as part of the Provincial Animal Biosecurity Program, were given to all Sixth District LGUs.

Gov. Bong Lacson said that the provincial government through the Provincial Veterinary Office continues to ensure the well-being of animals and prevent the spread of transboundary animal diseases, to protect the livelihood of animal raisers. (PR)
