CAPITOL TURNS OVER P5M TO PCICFOR AGRI-FISHERY INSURANCE

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson turned over a check worth P5 million to Philippine Crop Insurance (PCIC) president Atty. Jovy Bernabe and Regional Manager Eva Eulie Laud,on Friday, August 11, for the crop insurance coverage (crop year 2023) of all agri-fishery projects, specifically rice, corn, and high-value crops of the province.

The PCIC has been providing insurance protection to all agricultural and fishery programs of the province including its farmers and fishermen for loss and damages due to pests, infestations, and the impact of weather and climate change.

The Agri-Fishery Insurance Program aims to cushion the impact of the ill-effects of calamities, pests, and plant diseases on the farmers while enhancing agricultural productivity and food sufficiency programs of the province.

The turnover of the fund was also witnessed by Dina Genzola, Supervising Agriculturist of Negros Occ. Office of the Provincial Agriculturist. (PR)
