AMID the prevailing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-South has distributed certificates of land ownership award (Cloas) to 10 farmer-beneficiaries at Barangay Robles in La Castellana recently.

The 5.5658-hectare property formerly owned by Engracia Dominguez, among others, was covered under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms (Carper).

Senior agrarian reform program technologist Dindo Gelasque, who led the distribution rite, said precautionary measures to avoid the spread of Covid-19 were strictly observed wherein a house-to-house system was implemented during the distribution of titles.

Gelasque also commended the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and encouraged them to cultivate the land and make it productive.

He reminded the beneficiaries to exercise diligence in the use, cultivation, and maintenance of the land and to secure their real property taxes and amortizations at the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

Section 49 of the DAR Administrative Order No. 7, Series of 2011 stated that the sale, transfer, lease, or any other form of conveyance by a beneficiary of the awarded lots is unlawful.

Meanwhile, farmer beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude of the blessing they have received from DAR amid this pandemic.
