GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson and Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo led the inauguration of the Hinigaran Slaughterhouse and Market Mall in the Municipality of Hinigaran, Monday, February 27.

It is a collaborative project of the local government of Hinigaran and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO).

The market mall is envisioned to significantly contribute to the general welfare and income of the town as well as provide increased livelihood opportunities.

Hinigaran Vice Mayor Mary Grace Arceo, SB Members, PVO OIC Dr. Placeda Lemana, and other guests were also present at the activity.

Gov. Lacson said that operating a government-owned slaughterhouse is in the best interest of the municipality, as it provides important economic benefits to the stakeholders in the livestock’s value chain.

The governor lauded and thanked the Hinigaran local officials, and the support of 5th District Rep. Dino Yulo and 5th District Board Members Rita Gatuslao and Anton Occeño for the timely and sound development in the district that will promote the advancement of the government’s vision and goal to effectively implement an inclusive and sustainable economic recovery for the province.

“The accord between the Capitol and our Local Government Units has proven to be enormously constructive and beneficial to the Negrenses, particularly in our efforts towards recovery,” said Gov. Lacson.
