Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas, with Vice-Mayor Johnny Reosura and Sangguniang Bayan Members, inaugurated and turned over recently the newly-refurbished Manokan Food Court to the Manokan Country Tenants Association.

“When we inaugurated this Bagsakan Market multi-purpose center almost three years ago, I promised that our administration will next renovate the food stalls here at Manokan Country and the coffee shops / business stalls fronting the plaza. The Manokan food stalls are now finished, while the business stalls are undergoing renovation,” said Rojas, pointing out that that these renovations are sourced from local funds.

He urged the tenants to maintain the peace and order, as well as the cleanliness in the area, which now has two sets of comfort rooms for men, women and persons with disabilities, so that more guests and clients will patronize the food stalls.

During the program, the mayor inducted the new officers of the Manokan Country Tenants Association and officially turned over the food stalls to the tenants.

Association president Mirasol Martinez thanked Rojas and his administration for fulfilling his promise, and assured him that they will maintain the peace and order and cleanliness of the place, so that more people will experience and appreciate the delicious food and warm hospitality of Murciahanons.

Aside from Martinez, the other officers of the association are Jelly Arca – Vice-President, Vicente Bermisa, Jr. – Secretary, Lynn Malata – Treasurer, Ashley Coyoca – Business Manager, Ma. Luisa Tereja – Auditor and Evangeline Celez – Public Information Officer.

Providing entertainment during the program were the Live, Love, Dance (Zumba de Murcia) group led by former SB Member Belen Magbanua and live band music until the evening from Murcia’s homegrown talents True Dimension Band.

Earlier that afternoon, Rojas and municipal officials also inaugurated the newly-refurbished public comfort rooms with hotel standard facilities at the public plaza. (PR)
