Philsutech general meeting moved to August 27

IN VIEW of the four-day “timeout weekend” which will implement a lockdown in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, the Annual General Membership Meeting of the Philippine Sugarcane Technologists Association (Philsutech) is moved to Thursday, August 27, 9:30 a.m. at the Philsutech Building, Bacolod City.

The meeting will be conducted virtually. Moreover, members can register their attendance via proxy.

Previously, the Philsutech Board of Directors unanimously decided to cancel the holding of the 67th Philsutech Annual National Convention scheduled in Bacolod this August due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The convention is one of the most-awaited events in the sugar industry, where all stakeholders gather to share the latest developments and technological advances in the industry, as well as to enjoy each other’s camaraderie.

Despite the cancellation of the convention, the Philsutech officers decided to push through with the Annual General Membership Meeting on August 28, 2020, 9:30 a.m. at the Philsutech Building, Bacolod City, in compliance with the requirement of the association’s Constitution and By-Laws and of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The “timeout weekend”, which aims to limit all movements of people in the province and the city, and to conduct mass testing on 10,000 target residents, compelled the Philsutech officers to move the general assembly a day earlier, from August 28 to August 27.

Incumbent elected officers shall hold and will remain in office and discharge their respective functions in a holdover capacity/authority, until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.

For more details, members may contact the Philsutech Secretariat at Telefax (034) 434-3013 / 4348127, Tel. No. (034) 434-1591 or email philsutech@gmail.com. (PR)
