THE Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of Negros Occidental is aligning its programs and projects to the "Abanse Negrense" Development Agenda of the new administration starting the second semester of the year.

The move was emphasized by Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena among all district veterinarians and program coordinators in a meeting at the PVO Office in Bacolod City on Friday.

Decena said PVO will ensure that personnel assigned to field units and frontline service providers will double its commitment and dedication to increase the reach of veterinary services delivery up to the district level.

"This is in accordance with the mandate of the new governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to focus on animal production towards value chain, biosecurity and prevention of emerging diseases," he added.

PVO assures that there will be strengthening and expansion of veterinary and quarantine services.

Also, it will boost the implementation of the PVO banner programs and projects in the province including the establishment of multiplier farms and meat shops, animal health, research and laboratory services, and livestock and poultry development.

Decena also emphasized loyalty to public service and respect to government policies such as wearing of identification cards at all times during office hours.

This is one of the standing orders of the governor, he added. (EPN)
