THE top executive of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, one of the largest transport conglomerates in the country, received the prestigious "Bagani sa Paglilingkod" 2022 award from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade led the presentation of the Transport Service Award to Leo Rey Yanson, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, during the LTFRB's 35th founding anniversary in Quezon City on June 17, 2022.

The citation reads: "A stakeholder who has shown initiative during times of adversity. Displayed concrete and immediate acts of service to the riding public through the Bayanihan spirit with no regard for compensation and reward."

The LTFRB bestows the "Bagani Award" on road transport stakeholders for their outstanding performance in their work. The Filipino word "bagani" means warrior, which represents the persona of LTFRB stakeholders.

Bagani is defined as a person experienced in warfare who shows great vigor, courage and aggression with the highest dignity on the battlefield.

The LTFRB said Bagani awardees, such as the stakeholders who bravely raise the quality of the transportation sector in the country, "firmly resist and aggressively face the challenges and obstacles for the public interest: transcending success, moving people efficiently, innovating the transport service at world-class standards."

Yanson thanked the DOTr and LTFRB for recognizing the efforts of the Yanson Group in providing transport service to the Filipino people despite the challenges of the pandemic.

"This award is a testimony to the efforts and sacrifices of the men and women behind the Yanson Group of Bus Companies. The management and staff of the Yanson Group are truly honored with this accolade bestowed on us by the LTFRB," Yanson said in a statement.

"With the Bagani sa Paglilingkod award, we will continue our shared vision and commitment to serve our countrymen by providing them with affordable, safe and efficient land transportation solutions," Yanson added.

The Yanson Group operates several bus companies that serve important routes in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. (PR)
