The coastal barangay of Pasil in E. B. Magalona was awarded a plaque of recognition for Best in Financial Reporting for Calendar Year 2022, at rites at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City last Dec. 6.

The award was received by Punong Barangay Sharen Belen and Barangay Treasurer Marlyn Hechanova. Joining them was Municipal Accountant Mardy Pagunsan.

The award was given by the Association of Local Government Accountants - Negros Occidental, Inc. (ALGANO) and presented by its president, Jeffrey Rumbines, during their Year-End Conference and Awarding Ceremony.

In his congratulatory letter to Belen, Rumbines said the award for Pasil was based on its "compliance to COA (Commission on Audit) circulars on submission of financial records, reports, and other document as to timeliness, completeness, and accuracy which serves as the basis in the preparation of your financial statements for submission to COA and other government agencies."

ALGANO is the association of all local government accountants of cities and municipalities in the Province of Negros Occidental. (PR)
